Easter days out for under £15 at Bewl Water

Keep the kids busy for less this Easter at South East England’s largest reservoir, Bewl Water. Throughout April 1 – 16, the 800-acre site which straddles the Kent/Sussex border will be pulling all the stops to help parents keep children entertained for under £15. Whilst car parking costs £7 for the day, Easter activities are mostly free to enjoy.

Easter Egg Hunt – £2

An Easter egg hunt will be among the fun things happening at Bewl Water each day of half term this April. Hop over to the Waterfront Café to collect your Easter sticker pack and map (£2) before making your way to the magical woodlands.

Here, families will need to find six hidden eggs before cracking the Easter code to win a chocolate treat.

 

Giant Garden Games – FREE

Long established as a place for outdoor fun, head down to Bewl Water this Easter and get stuck into a host of giant garden games fit for the whole family. When the sun is shining, you’ll find giant Jenga, giant noughts and crosses, and hula hoops scattered across the glorious grounds that overlook the reservoir.

 

Ranger Bear’s Spring Trail – FREE

As the clocks jump forward and flowers begin to bloom, Bewl Water and its 800 acres come alive with the promise of magical springtime fun. Gather the whole family and head to the Waterfront Café to pick up a free map for mascot Ranger Bear’s newest adventure.

Perfect for young children, families will need to follow a collection of clues that will lead them through the enchanted forests of Bewl Water where they’ll find Ranger Bear’s sleeping friend, Hedgehog. Solve the winning word to wake him to complete the trail, before heading back to the Waterfront Café for a sweet treat.

Rabbit Colouring Competition – FREE

Dig out your crayons and unleash your inner artist to be in with the chance of winning an egg-xtra special prize this spring! Supplies and activity sheets can be found inside the Waterfront Café where little ones will need to show off their best colouring skills.

All entries will feature on Bewl Water’s Wall of Colouring Fame and the winner will be announced on social media (@bewlwater) on May 26. To enter, colouring sheets should be posted through Ranger Bear’s mailbox or parents can tag Bewl Water in a photo of their child’s design on Instagram.

 

Adventure Pirate Ship – FREE

Designed for little adventurers with the most imaginative of minds, the pirate ship is Bewl Water’s largest outdoor play area and features sweeping timber structures and slides constructed around a washed-up galleon. With views of the beautiful reservoir, the playground enhances learning by boosting balance, agility, memory, and concentration through communication and teamwork.

There is also a smaller play area where children can explore the climbing frame and navigate their way up the tower before enjoying the slide back down. Other fun features include a rocking boat and a basket swing.

 

Soft Play – £5 (Under 1s go free)

Tots bouncing off the walls? Venture to Bewl Water this Easter and blow off some steam at soft play. Featuring two challenging levels perfect for children aged 0-8, the colourful structure is crammed with interactivity, different play features and numerous routes up and down. Sessions last for 1 hour and allow children to explore a safe and stimulating environment whilst learning, running free, and most importantly having fun. Meanwhile, parents can sit back and relax with a cup of coffee and snack from the Waterfront Café.

Big Easter Family Fun Day – FREE

On Sunday 8 April Bewl Water welcomes a new Easter event to its annual calendar promising fun for kids, grownups, and furry friends alike. Packed full of activities to keep families busy all day long, visitors will be spoilt for choice as highlights include a classic Easter egg hunt, face painting, a bouncy castle, and an inflatable obstacle course.

There will also be a hay bale maze, bouncy hoppers, and garden games like splat a rat, hook a duck and welly throwing. Hot drinks and tasty snacks will be available throughout the day at the dog-friendly Waterfront Café where families can refuel whilst overlooking the reservoir.

 

Bike Hire – £7.50

Hiring a bike is a great way to get the family outdoors and this Easter, Bewl Water is offering 20% off cycle hire. The 12 ½ mile route consists of numerous trails for all ages, and families can expect to see blooming flowers and lots of wildlife on their way around. Native animals like rabbits and birds make the routes popular during springtime, so be sure to book your bikes in advance.

Helmets are supplied free of charge and mile markers and signs are posted throughout.

Laser Tag

For parents willing to spend a little more this Easter, laser tag can also be enjoyed for £15. Sessions last for 50 minutes and take place in Bewl Water’s military-themed, outdoor, battle zone. Perfect for kids and grownups alike, players will gear up in industry equipment and face life-like combat scenarios in three games: Team Death Match, Attack and Defend, and Protect the VIP.
