Friends of Bewl Water
Enjoy more, protect more with a Friends of Bewl Water Membership! New for 2025 and replacing our existing annual parking pass, the Friends of Bewl Water membership is about more than just supporting South East England’s largest reservoir.

Water Sports Clubs & Memberships
Experience a world of water sports at Bewl Water where you can enjoy sailing, canoeing, rowing, paddleboarding, windsurfing, wing foiling and kayaking on South East England’s largest reservoir. We have split our membership options into two groups, giving you plenty of ways to practice your skills, explore the waters and soak up 800 acres of picturesque views.
For confident water sports users with their own equipment and insurance, we offer annual memberships, giving you year-round access to our calm waters and facilities.
For those looking to learn something new, build on their skills or be part of a thriving community, we have teamed up with a fantastic selection of water sports clubs for tuition, group sessions and events.
Water Sports Clubs
The perfection option for beginners wanting to learn a new skill or avid water users looking for group sessions and regular events.
Bewl Sailing Association is a not-for-profit organisation that supports and promotes recreational sailing at Bewl Water for all ages and abilities. The group is friendly and welcoming meaning memberships are great for beginners.
Bewl Sailing Association come together on Wednesdays and Sundays with seasoned sailors on hand to give plenty of advice. In addition to regular sailing, there is a full programme of events throughout the year and on Saturday mornings, the Mariners of Bewl join us, sailing adapted crafts for those with physical disabilities.

If you’re interested in becoming a member of regular group canoeing and kayaking, look no further than Bewl Canoe Club. This inclusive club warmly welcomes individuals of all ages and experience levels, making it the perfect choice for anyone who wants to learn a new skill!

Discover rowing at Bewl Water with the friendly Bewl Bridge Rowing Club, providing coaching and tuition. It’s an inclusive club with members aged 12 and above, offering vibrant squads for juniors, ladies, men, and masters, all supported by a dedicated team of qualified coaches, launch drivers and helpers. New members are always welcome, whether recreational or competitive!

Water Sports Memberships
The perfect option for experienced water sports enthusiasts with their own equipment, craft, buoyancy aids, and insurance. If you need cover, water sports insurance can be easily purchased online from providers like Insure4Sport.
As a Watersports Member, you’ll also enjoy exclusive perks including free parking all year round, 10% off at the Waterfront Cafe and 20% off all activities, giving you even more ways to make the most of Bewl Water.
For stand-up paddleboard pros, our annual memberships let you enjoy unlimited access to our reservoir all year round. Bring your own equipment, and we’ll take care of the rest, including a complimentary car parking pass for added convenience!

Take your windsurfing skills to new heights with wing foiling! The water sport has become extremely popular in the last few years and is now available as part of our windsurfing memberships where you’ll enjoy year-round reservoir access and a free parking pass.

Watersport Memberships FAQs
Our annual term of membership runs for 12 months from the day you join. You will automatically be sent a renewal reminder to your membership email address which will direct you to payment.
Yes, we offer subsidies for junior and disabled water sports members.
No, parking is included in your membership purchase. Please display your membership parking pass so it is clearly visible in your car windscreen.
At the point of membership purchase you will be given a sticker to display on the boat transom alongside a car parking pass to be displayed on the dashboard of your car.
